THE URDD

Fair Trade School

ASDAN Centre of Excellence

asdanCanolfan Addysg y Bont has been acknowledged with an ASDAN Certificate as a Centre of Excellence, in recognition of outstanding practice in running ASDAN courses in Secondary during 2015-16. Congratulations to all involved.

BREEAM certificate

Canolfan Addysg y Bont has achieved the BREEAM certificate for the code of sustainable built environment. This is the first approval Anglesey County Council.

Investors in People

investorsCanolfan Addysg Y Bont are delighted to have been awarded the Investor's in People 'Silver' standard recently, following an external assessment. It is very pleasing to have external expertise confirm that as an establishment, everyone's contribution is valued, and core values are shared. We must always remember that our staff are the most valuable resource we have.

Nationally Recognised Awards

The school has received recognition for excellence from a number of different agencies. It is recognised as an accredited centre by the Welsh Joint Education Committee (W.J.E.C.) which enables the school to hold entry level examinations and to compile the Records of Achievement. The school is also accredited for all ASDAN courses together with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Ysgol y Bont is a full member of the Autistic society and all staff members have attended training courses. The school is also an accredited centre for Agored Cymru (2013), and delivers OCN Units.

The school has achieved the Investor in People Award for ensuring the professional development of its staff. Further assessments during 2009 confirmed its status for another 4 years. In 2012 the school achieved the Bronze Investors in People Award for the first time.

During 2011 the Careers Department gained the Recognition of Quality Award whilst the school gained the new Basic Skills Quality Standard Award in 2009.

The school takes an active role in the European Comenius Programme and has links with all 25 associated countries.

The School has gained an International School Award in Autumn 2011 for its work in bringing the world into the classroom.
